Missing my childhood.................

Started work on Monday, I woke up at 5am to get
 ready, had a bowl of cereal and then left at 6am.
Got to Nicosia with no problems
but asked some friendly locals for directions to the school. 

     

Summer school starts in 5 weeks, well be going swimming 3 days a week
 and going out 2 days a week for an
excursion around Nicosia. Cant wait! 

Spent break time getting in touch with my inner child which didn't take too much effort! The girls dragged me on the playground to play extreme skipping and I just couldn't help myself!

This is the classroom that Ill be working in, takes me back to when I was 6! Crayons, glitter, and tiny little chairs that are ideal for my height   ; ) 

Listened to a couple of the kids read,

You know you've made it when you get access to the staff room! I kind of felt like I was on a different planet. I felt all grown up sitting there gossiping away with a cup of tea....     : O

I helped the kids decorate the wall with mosaic effect sea creatures,
had fun messing with the glitter and glue.  

I miss my iphone but this trusty phone will have to see me through the next few months. So far so good. 

Meatttttttttttttt!!!! My first time eating meat in 2 weeks! Theres no halal food places in Larnaca and just so happened to go past 'Shaam', an Arabic take away place in Nicosia. Treated myself to a mixed Shwarma. Now Im realllly happy   : )

I thought I would play the tourist part today and visit Nicosia town after school.
You wouldn't believe how much Cypriots love their drinks, there were cafes on every corner. Had a lovely stroll through Nicosia town shopping in the heat.

On route back to Tersefanou. Had an amazing first week at the school. Met
some amazing teachers and pupils. Love the fact that I have a halal food
place to visit whenever I decide to have a day off from my junk food detox   : )

Bliss.......... : )

Thought I would venture out of the Elysian complex yesterday and go to pick up the rental car. Caught the bus to Larnaca Town and was pleasantly surprised with the cute little Suzuki. Still no water at this point I should add!

Not what Im used to but it drives beautifully. Luckily I can drive on the same side of the road here so theres no problems with me accidentally driving up the wrong side of the highway! 

The Cypriots are kinda Easter crazy as you can see with these temporary egg things by the bus stop to Larnaca.  They do Easter late which only ended yesterday! Shops have finally opened and so I can get the essentials

Shopping done. Pretty much living on liquids at the minute, the heat is a fantastic appetite killer. Maybe Ill fit into my skinny jeans without the need to force my wobbly bits in lol?    : )

Not a huge amount to write as Ill Ive done is lounge about on the balcony, swim, and pretty much pamper myself! All in all, not missing the UK at all. Cant wait to start my summer school placement at the Junior school on Monday. Will keep you posted.xxx

The day has come.......

 Got dropped off at the airport by mom and sis with time for a rushed farewell hug   : )

After a cramped and stuffy 4 1/2 hour flight sitting next to a guy with unbearable body odour I finally arrived at the beautiful apartment late last night

What an amazing start to the day, bowl of cornflakes and glass of OJ for brekkie on the balcony overlooking the complex 

After completing and uploading my one but last assignment with 30 minutes to spare, I treat myself to a swim, then lounging with a good mag and skype convo at the poolside with the cuzzy -supersaz. All this while finch like birds, dragon fly's and butterflies chase each other around me. Now for the bad part, I go back to my apartment for a shower and realise there is no water at all and I cant get hold of the caretakers! 

One day to go......... This time tomorrow Ill be sitting in the departure lounge at Birmingham Airport waiting to board the plane. Packings almost complete. Phewww!

End of year 2 at Uni!

Another milestone completed before the big Cyprus trip........... Year 2 at Uni is officially over as of today! Enormous sense of achievement as I wave goodbye to the building on my way out. See you in September!!!     : )

3 days and counting......

3 days to go!!! BBQ with the friends DONE, Uni presentation DONE, Travel card DONE, Insurance DONE. Now 2 assignments to go and just back from a farewell dinner with the girls. Very productive few days Id say    : )
